Alaska Blades

About Us

The Alaska Blades was founded and established as a non-profit organization in early 2015. During our initial 2 years of program development, we focused on seeing continued success with a single birth year of players. Once we continued to see positive development, we couldn't say no to all the other birth years that wanted to help represent the Blades and Alaska hockey.

In the last 2 seasons, we've had over 8 birth years consistently represented and over 200 players registered to travel and play in tournaments not only in the US, but internationally as well. Moreover, many of our alumni in the 2005-2008 birth years are not only drafted, but playing in the USHL, NAHL, BCHL, WHL and for the US National Development Program.

In addition to the Blades, we have established the Alaska Wild for our girls that are interested in playing against girls teams from across the country and Canada. The girls from the Alaska Wild have not only been successful, but so dominant that they were ranked #2 nationally at one point and went undefeated for months suffering a loss only to a Canadian team with the best players from all over Canada.

Our Mission

Our mission; our goal with the Alaska Blades is to simply introduce hockey outside of just Alaska to all our Alaska hockey players. It's amazing to watch many of these young players meet and play against like minded athletes from all over the world and make friends. Many of these players create life-long friendships and rivals that we continue to see as they advance in the game.
